Joel was principal author of a book titled “Strategic Planning Guideline for Information Systems in Community Hospitals” which was published by the Ontario Hospital Association under a grant from the Ministry of Health in 1989.
He has also written and published various articles on managing the systems development process, hardware and software selection and small business computers. His articles have been published in: The Canadian Hospital Association Magazine, Dimensions in Health Service; Canadian Business; Small Business Magazine (now Profit); International Journal of Management Consulting; and The Bottom Line.
He has also written a chapter for the National Dental EDI Council (NDEDIC) EDI Implementation Guide.
